NBA: Detroit Pistons fire head coach Lawrence Frank

Another coaching vacancy has been created in the NBA. Just a day after the end of the 2012-13 regular season, the Detroit Pistons announced on their website that head coach Lawrence Frank has been fired. "We thank Lawrence for his hard work and dedication, but we feel it is in the best interest of the franchise to make a change at this time," Pistons president of basketball operations Joe Dumars said in a statement. "Decisions like this are never easy and we wish Lawrence well in the future." Frank, who was previously head coach of the New Jersey, now Brooklyn Nets, had two seasons with the Pistons, going 54-94, including 29-53 this season.
