PBA: Kia import PJ Ramos excited to watch Pacquiao-Mayweather fight
By MARISSE PANALIGAN, GMA News
Kia import PJ Ramos is excited to watch Manny Pacquiao fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. in the ring on May 2 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
"Manny invited me so hopefully I see him on May and just be with him," said Ramos after scoring a season-high 49 points against Blackwater on Saturday. "It's gonna be my first fight so hopefully it will be soon and I'll see him."
The boxing icon, who also serves as playing coach for the PBA franchise, is set to fly to the United States on Saturday night to start his training for the bout dubbed as the richest in the history of the sport.
Despite the tight schedule, the eight-division champion managed to squeeze in some time to attend Kia's game against Blackwater at the San Juan Arena. The team, however, failed to give him a victorious send-off as the Elite took control early en route to a 115-104 win.
Kia fell to a 3-5 record after the loss, but Ramos said he is ready to take charge of the team in Pacman's absence and help them in their bid to make it to the playoffs.
"Manny loves basketball so I'm over here to help him and just make the team better everyday," said the 7-foot-4 Ramos, who has been showing a dominating performance so far for the Carnival, averaging 34.1 points and 19. rebounds per game. - RAF, GMA News
