PBA: Orlando Johnson takes blame for Ginebra loss to Talk 'N Text
By MARISSE PANALIGAN, GMA News
Orlando Johnson had another explosive performance for Barangay Ginebra on Sunday night, finishing with 46 points in their 95-91 defeat to Talk 'N Text. The high-scoring forward, however, took responsibility for failing to carry the team to a victory in their first two games.
"It's me," Johnson told reporters after the game. "I have to do a better job getting people involved. I'm really a combo guard, I play the point and shoot."
He said that he still adjusting to his local teammates and assured that the Gin Kings will improve with more practice time together.
"I'm good at setting people up and getting people good looks," he said. "Once I get the ball moving a little bit better, we'll be in better shape."
For teammate LA Tenorio, Johnson is already doing more than enough for the team especially with his 50-point outing when he debuted on Friday against Alaska.
"I think it's not the import anymore, it's the locals. We need to shape up, we need to help our import," said the guard, who finished with 10 points, six rebounds, and six assists for the Kings.
"Parang hinahayaan lang namin siya na umiskor pero we need to help Orlando," he added. "'Yun ang pinakaimportante kasi nag-a-average siya ng 50 points per game pero natatalo pa rin kami." - RAF, GMA News
