PBA: Orlando Johnson wants to get a win for Ginebra crowd as team's woes compound

Barangay Ginebra import Orlando Johnson came to play for the most popular team in the PBA, and he did not disappoint the team's legions of fans after tallying a total of 96 points in his first two games.

"I wanted to come here and put a good show for the people. It is said to be one of the most popular teams and I'm honored to be on the this team," he said about his first game in the league.

Ginebra lost their opening encounter against Alaska, but Johnson said he appreciated how the fans cheered for the team when they staged a comeback to put them within two points.

"I love the fans here, man. They show so much love, I've been feeling it since I've got here," he said."Especially when we were making our run, they were loud."

Johnson said he wanted to get the win for the sake of the fans, who experienced seven years of heartbreak since Ginebra's last championship title in 2008.

"I wish we could have had it and got that win for them 'cause I know how much it means to them," he said.
