AZ Reid on losing PBA Best Import award: 'I don't understand it'
By MARISSE PANALIGAN, GMA News
After San Miguel Beer's Game One victory, Arizona Reid said he was more concerned about winning the championship trophy rather than the Best Import award this Governors' Cup.
It comes as no surprise, as he was already named the Best Import the past two seasons as Rain or Shine's reinforcement but fell short of winning a PBA title.
But when the announcement was made before Game Two's tip-off on Sunday, Reid was visibly disappointed when Alaska's Romeo Travis was hailed as the Best Import.
Reid seemed to play more aggressively after that, scoring 14 of his 37 points in the first quarter alone of the match.
Asked whether he wanted to make a statement after losing the Best Import race, he gave a non-committal answer.
"It's just how I play. This is what you get from AZ," he said. "Congratulations to Travis, it's tough, it's rough, real tough."
His dismay, however, still slipped through.
"I don't understand, it but he deserved it," Reid said. "It is what it is." —JST, GMA News
