Jetlag fails to ground Globalport import Calvin Warner
By MARISSE PANALIGAN, GMA News
Fresh off a 30-hour flight from the Dominican Republic, Calvin Warner fought off jetlag to come up with a solid performance and a victory for GlobalPort against Tropang TNT on Friday night.
Warner finished with 11 points and 21 rebounds including 11 from the offensive glass to help the team beat an import-less TNT squad.
The 6-foot-5 American reinforcement said he was thrilled with the opportunity to return to the Philippines and play another tour of duty with GlobalPort.
"I'm excited to be back and show what I can do again and hopefully, we can go farther this time," he said after the game.
Warner said he wants to stay longer this time as he played only four games for the Batang Pier last year.

Despite his brief stint last season, he said his familiarity with the team makes his transition easy.
"It's pretty much like going back to your family, going back to a place you know," he said. "I know the team, the system, the coaches, I know where I'm living."
Warner said he also likes the team's deeper lineup and hopes to have everyone gel around him.
"As an import, you don't just come here for the stats. I come here for the winning," he said. "When you get your team involved, everybody's happy, everybody's comfortable, and it makes everybody's job easier." — APG, GMA News
