Jeff Chan sprains ankle; to likely miss  game against NLEX

Jeff Chan is likely to miss Rain or Shine's next game after spraining his ankle against Alaska on Saturday night.

With less than six minutes left in the third quarter, the top sniper went down on the floor clutching his right ankle in pain during the Elasto Painters' offense.

Chan briefly sat on the bench and eventually headed for the team's locker room.

"I don’t think it’s a serious sprain, but he might miss one game," said head coach Yeng Guiao after his team absorbed a lopsided 128-102 loss against the Aces.

It was another unfortunate injury for the E-Painters, who already had to switch imports after Wayne Chism hurt his hamstring against Meralco.

"Hindi na kaya makabalik ni Wayne, who’s sidelined for at least a month," Guiao said about last season's Best Import of the Conference.

Star player Paul Lee is also nursing the knee he hurt in the pre-season, which he re-injured when he played in the Philippine Cup semifinals last conference.

Currently holding a 1-3 card, Rain or Shine will look to stop their losing streak against NLEX on Friday. — APG, GMA News
