Terrence Romeo just came back from a calf injury that sidelined him for three games, but he was still able to put together an explosive performance in GlobalPort's 110-105 loss to the NLEX Road Warriors on Friday night.

The 24-year-old point guard finished with 27 points, five rebounds, and five assists for the Batang Pier, a stat line actually eclipsing his conference average before he hurt his leg.

He said, however, that his body hurt all over and he got tired easily during the game.

"Hindi ko inisip na makaka-perform pa rin ako kahit na ganito lang 'yung kundisyon ko. Sana magtuloy-tuloy lang," he said.

Romeo initially said he will have limited minutes as he only had two practices with the team since his injury, but he played 30 minutes on the floor to help GlobalPort in a must-win match.

"Medyo kinailangan. Okay naman 'yung shooting ko siguro at kailan ko rin makatulong sa team. Tsaka sobrang gigil na rin ako maglaro," he said.

He waxed hot from beyond the arc with an 8-of-13 clip on three-pointers, but he visibly struggled to score inside after going 0-of-2 from the two-point area.

The Batang Pier stayed on the last spot in the standings with a 2-7 card, a far cry from their semifinal finish in the Philippine Cup.

Romeo chalked it up as lesson learned for his team, but what matters to him now is winning their last two games to give them confidence for next conference.

"Kung matapos namin ‘to na panalo kami, kahit papaano, next conference, madadala namin ito," he said.
