SMB bringing back AZ Reid to replace Wilkerson
San Miguel Beer lived to fight another day after beating Rain or Shine, 104-98, in Game Three of their best-of-five semifinals series in the Commissioner's Cup on Thursday night.
The Beermen survived with an all-Filipino lineup after coach Leo Austria made the decision to drop import Tyler Wilkerson from the team following his outburst after Game Two and no-show at practice the next day.
But the coach is aware that they may not be able to pull off another squeaker going without an import for a second time, so the team is set to tap their Governors' Cup reinforcement AZ Reid.
SMB is hoping he will be able to arrive in time for Game Four on Sunday, as the team is still facing a do-or-die situation.
Reid led the Beermen to their 4-0 sweep of Alaska in last season's Governors' Cup and also formerly suited up for Rain or Shine under coach Yeng Guiao. —JST, GMA News
