Beau Belga blamed himself for Rain or Shine's 86-78 loss to Alaska in Game Five of their best-of-seven series in the PBA Commissioner's Cup finals on Sunday night.

The sweet-shooting big man fouled out with four minutes remaining in the fourth quarter and only finished with four points, two rebounds, and two assists for the Elasto Painters.

But for him, his most significant blunder of the night came when he picked up his crucial fifth foul against Calvin Abueva with five minutes remaining in the third quarter.

"Sobrang daming kalokohan at stupid mistakes. Nung lumamang kami ng third quarter, dun sa nangyari sa amin ni Calvin, 'yun 'yung naging turning point," he told reporters when he finally came out after staying inside the locker room for more than an hour.

Rain or Shine was leading 53-46 when the play happened, but the Aces then rushed to an 8-0 run that proved pivotal in changing the complexion of the game for good.

"I was not expecting na tatawag ng deliberate foul, kasi I was just fouling Calvin," Belga said. "Hindi ko naman sinaktan e. Talagang ako, going for the ball."

Belga was then banished to the bench for good in the fourth after fouling RJ Jazul.

The big man said he would not be able to sleep at all thinking of his mistakes during the game.

"Sabi ko sa sarili ko, 'Ang bobo mo Belga. T*****a ka," he said. "Sobrang frustrated ko today."

The former Gilas Pilipinas reserve, usually loud and sure of himself, spoke in a low tone as he beat himself up over blowing another chance to give the E-Painters the title.

"Talagang pinagsisisihan ko. Hindi natin alam e, kung hindi ko ginawa 'yun, baka sakaling champion na kami," he said. — APG, GMA News
