Paul Lee on winning championship, Finals MVP: 'Wala nang mas sasarap pa'

For the better part of the season, Paul Lee had to be content in sitting at the sidelines after hurting his knee in a tune-up game late last year. He would return after a spending several weeks of recovery, but as luck would have it, he would injure himself again at a time when his team needed him.
All those were just a distant memory now that he authored an extraordinary redemption story after leading Rain or Shine to the Commissioner's Cup championship on Wednesday night.
"Ibang klase 'yung nangyari sa akin. Perfect comeback. Lahat lumabas. Last part ng semis and Finals, perfect timing lang," said Lee, who was also hailed as the Finals Most Valuable Player after his superb performance against Alaska in six grueling games.
The Lee-thal Weapon scored 20 points in just 17 minutes in Game Six, scoring 15 points in the first quarter alone before hitting a tough step-back three to put the game away in the fourth for good.
The achievement was extra special for the combo guard, who had to endure four runner-up finishes in the last three seasons.
Lee also remembered the Elasto Painters' 2012 Governors' Cup championship run, when he went down with an ill-timed injury and did not finish the series against B-Meg.
"Ito na talaga 'yung pinakahihiling ko. Sobrang tuwa na natapos ko. Lagi na lang kasi ako nai-injury pag playoffs na," he said.
