There's going to be a Kobe Bryant tribute on Monday night at the Araneta Coliseum

In 41 years, Kobe Bryant touched the lives of so many people, not at the least basketball-loving Filipinos.

In a 2011 Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho episode, the frequent Manila visitor — Kobe visited Manila six times — said he loved coming here because he enjoyed "being around people who have the same passion."

On Monday evening, Araneta Coliseum in Cubao will join the growing list of places in the world that are lighting up in purple and gold in honor of Kobe.

Open to the public, the tribute will be held at 8pm in the Green Gate of the coliseum, where a memento will be displayed. The memento will be a huge tarpaulin where fans can write messages to the basketball legend.
