Thirdy Ravena's B.League debut hits 910k views on livestream

Thirdy Ravena immediately grabbed the attention of basketball fans from Asia and other parts of the world when he debuted in the Japan Professional Basketball League.

His first game as Asian import of the San-En NeoPhoenix was streamed online and reached almost a million views, as Filipinos showed their support for the UAAP star.

The B.League said the total number of its Live viewers on its English Facebook page and YouTube page hit around 910,000, with the peak of its simultaneous viewers at around 90,000.

In a statement released on Sunday, the league said the big number of viewers "prove that Thirdy is a remarkable player in Asia."

B.League will also stream Ravena's next eight games with the NeoPhoenix.

The former Ateneo star made its debut on Saturday, making 13 points for San-En's win against the Shimane Magic. On Sunday, Ravena registered a near double-double 12 points and eight rebounds, but his team fell short against the same team.

Ravena will play his first home game with San-En on Wednesday against the Osaka Evessa. —Justin Kenneth Carandang/MGP, GMA News
