Thirdy Ravena tests positive for COVID-19, says San-En Neophoenix

Thirdy Ravena has tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

San-En Neophoenix, his team in the Japan Professional Basketball League, announced the news on Friday.

According to the team's website, Ravena reported feeling unwell on Thursday morning. His temperature was measured at 38.2 °C so he was sent to the Toyohashi City Health Center to get a PCR test.

The team received the positive result on Friday. Ravena is currently receiving medical treatment at home and his condition is now improving.

His temperature has lowered to 36.9 °C and sore throat has subsided. His sense of smell and taste are also normal.

Ravena is the Asian import of the Neophoenix in the Japan B.League.

The team won against the Shimane Susanoo Magic in his debut game, but they went on a four-game losing skid following the victory.

In five games so far, the former Ateneo star posted an average of 12 points and 4.8 rebounds.

The B.League said Ravena is a "remarkable player in Asia" after the online stream of his first game hit more than 900,000 views.
