He may have stood tall on the basketball court, but Divine Adili always kept his feet on the ground, according to friends who remembered the late player.

Antonio Montemayor, one of Adili’s close friends, shared how he remembers the late big man.

“I remember poking fun at him. I said, ‘Bro, you are a bona fide celebrity now. You’re a UAAP player.’ But none of that changed him,” Montemayor said in Oscar Oida’s report on 24 Oras.

Former NCAA MVP Prince Eze, one of Adili’s former teammates in Nigeria, is helping raise funds for the Adili family.

“All of us are shocked by what happened. We’re trying to contain our pain because the people back home are feeling much greater pain,” Eze said.

According to Ateneo’s latest update, Adili’s wake will conclude tonight.

Meanwhile, the wake for Baterbonia is ongoing in Agusan del Sur.
