Jimmy Alapag appointed new head coach of NLEX Road Warriors

Jimmy Alapag is back in the Philippines as he is set to take over the head coaching role for the NLEX Road Warriors in the PBA.

The PBA club announced this in a social media post on Monday.

Alapag, a legend in both the PBA and the Gilas Pilipinas national team, had been part of the NBA's Sacramento Kings coaching staff from 2023 to earlier this year. Prior to that, he was with their G League affiliate, the Stockton Kings, from 2021 to 2023.

He takes over an NLEX team that finished #1 in the elimination round with a 10-2 record in the recent Commissioner's Cup but was knocked out by #8 TNT in the first round despite having a twice-to-beat advantage.
