PBA postpones August 9, 2026 games due to inclement weather
The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) has postponed its scheduled games for Sunday, August 9, 2026, due to the inclement weather being experienced in Metro Manila.
The games were supposed to feature Phoenix against Rain or Shine and Barangay Ginebra against Blackwater.
“In light of the severe weather conditions, and with the safety of our fans, players, officials, and staff as our top priority, the PBA has decided to postpone its Sunday, August 9 games,” the league said in a statement, adding that an updated schedule will be announced soon.
PBA games have also experienced rain delays over the past two game days, with rainfall leaking into the venues at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium and the Ynares Center in Montalban.
Over the past few days, other leagues have also made changes to their schedules due to inclement weather in several parts of the country.
The UAAP also announced on Saturday the rescheduling of its scheduled esports matches to August 10 due to the rainfall warning.
