Team Pacquiao denied reports that the eight-division champion is suffering from severe leg cramps during his training for his megafight with Floyd Mayweather Jr.
In a report by 24 Oras, Manny Pacquiao's strength and conditioning coach Justin Fortune said that the issue was simply blown out of proportion when he fought American boxer Timothy Bradley last year.
"In the second Bradley fight where they got tangled together, Manny got like a knee in the thigh. So he's shaking his legs," Fortune said. "Everyone freaks out, 'Manny has leg cramps.'"
"He got kicked knee in the thigh so it hurts a lot," Fortune said.
Pacman's long-time coach Freddie Roach told Yahoo Sports that his team is spending $1,800 for an anti-inflammatory cream to massage the ring icon's legs, but he assured that the condition is nothing serious.
"We did a scan on his thighs and calves and it's all good. There's no tears, there's no injuries. He's just having a little shin splits but that's as far as it goes," said the Hall of Fame trainer.
Roach, however, said that they stopped sending Pacquiao running on the hills to avoid overworking his aging muscles. His best student earlier suffered from mild cramps during his first week of training in Los Angeles due to over exertion. - RAF, GMA News
