All Tokyo Olympic medalists to receive house and lot unit in Tagaytay — POC

2020 Tokyo Olympics medalists Nesthy Petecio, Carlo Paalam, and Eumir Marcial, all of whom are boxers, are each tipped to receive a house and lot in Tagaytay following their historic run in the Summer Games.

Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) president Abraham 'Bambol' Tolentino made the announcement on Sunday morning, saying all three boxers will join weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz as recipients of the Tagaytay properties.

"Our two silver [medalists] and one bronze will also be given a house and lot in Tagaytay," Tolentino said in a press conference.

Tolentino said the athletes deserved the incentive after their valiant showings in the Tokyo Games where they were pitted against more experienced fighters.

And Marcial, who settled for bronze in the men's middleweight after bowing to Oleksandr Khyzhniak of Ukraine in the semifinal round, was nothing but ecstatic over the news.

"The blessings are overflowing. And I'm thankful to God because He's using a lot of people as instruments to help us," said Marcial, who turned professional last year.

All four athletes, including Diaz, are expected to get millions worth of cash and other pledges like lifetime fuel and free flights.
