Olympian Eumir Marcial salutes Manny Pacquiao for courageous stand against Ugas

During Eumir Marcial's campaign at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics where he bagged a bronze medal, he had a regular supporter in boxing champion Manny Pacquiao.

And it's now his turn to pay homage to the Filipino legend following the latter's unanimous decision loss to Yordenis Ugas of Cuba in their WBA welterweight title bout on Sunday afternoon (Manila time).

Marcial became part of Pacquiao's MP Promotions after he decided to turn professional this year.

Marcial, 25, said in a post on his Facebook account that he's been looking up to the fighting senator ever since he was young and even until now that he's already carved his own name in the field of sport.

"Ever since I was a child, the name Manny Pacquiao has always been the name I’ve always heard," Marcial said on Monday.

"And has always been known in the field of boxing even until now it’s still Manny Pacquiao. Proudly! I am a Filipino!"

And as both of them hail from Mindanao, Marcial also stressed that Pacquiao will always be a winner in his eyes.

"You will always be my hero and someone I’ll always look up to. Thank you so much for inspiring us Senator."
