Quinito Henson weighs in on Sultan's chances should he fight Casimero in a rematch

Veteran sports analyst and broadcaster Quinito Henson believes that Jonas Sultan would be an underdog should he get to fight WBO world bantamweight champion John Riel Casimero in a rematch.

Sultan, 29, scored a massive upset over the previously unbeaten prospect Carlos Caraballo via unanimous decision this weekend in New York. The win is sure to catapult Sultan in the world rankings and could possibly set up a rematch with Casimero down the line.

"If it happens, then it happens, especially if a world title is at stake. Fighters want world championships and they want belts around their waist," said Henson.

"If it is mandated by the governing body of boxing that they fight, they will fight. Whether Sultan can beat Casimero again is a huge question mark because I have the highest respect for Casimero as a fighter."

Sultan and Casimero previously shared the ring as super flyweights in 2017 in a title eliminator, where Sultan scored a unanimous decision nod over the now bantamweight world champ.

In the event they get to fight each other again, Henson believes it would yield a different outcome this time around.

"This guy Casimero is a road warrior. He is a gladiator. I have seen his fights in Panama, Argentina, has fought all over the world, and managed to overcome tremendous odds in beating heavily favored opponents," said the Filipino analyst.

"He just needs to be disciplined. For all his looney antics, I love Casimero. I think he is a great fighter. This guy can beat anyone any given night, but he has to have his head in place. He is good for boxing."
