WPBL: NutriC-Ateneo, Oracle-FEU, Smart-UP advance to semis

MANILA, Philippines – Cassy Tioseco once again put on a dominating performance to lead NutriC-Ateneo to a 54-45 win over Mail&More in the quarterfinal round of the Women’s Philippine Basketball League (WPBL) 2008 PG Flex Linoleum Cup at the Far Eastern University (FEU) gym. Tioseco had another double-double performance with 16 points shooting 8-of-11 from the field. She also had 11 rebounds, an assist and a block. Jessamine Delos Reyes helped out with 14 points behind three three-pointers. Maria Lopa was the other double-figure scorer with 10 markers and three assists. Aikarea Ilustre led the Comets with 13 points and five boards while Rubyann Abad chipped in 12. Ateneo will face Smart Buddy-University of the Philippines in the semifinals after the Lady Maroons entered the final-four with a 76-66 win over stubborn Oracare-College of St. Benilde. In the other contest, Oracle-FEU did not break a sweat as Muscle Tape-Lyceum defaulted its match. The semifinals would be played on Sunday at the Lyceum of the Philippines University Gym in Intramuros. – GMANews.TV
