UAAP: DLSU vs FEU round one preview and live-scoring

Game starts at 4pm. Page auto-refreshes every 30 seconds.

Two teams will be out to prove that less is more in the UAAP, when the Far Eastern University Tamaraws and the De La Salle University Green Archers collide in a rematch of the knockout game for fourth place last season, Saturday at the MOA Arena.

The Archers (2-1) bested the Tams in that game, marking their return to the UAAP Final Four after missing the boat in Season 74. Following an offseason that saw them let go of then-mentor Gee Abanilla, the Archers entered this year's tourney with just 13 out of the maximum 16 roster spots filled. So far though, the move has worked out, as combined with a shortened rotation, DLSU was able to notch back-to-back wins against UP and rivals Ateneo, after an opening-day loss to UST.

Helping DLSU shoot down the Blue Eagles were two big contributors from the bench - center Arnold Van Opstal and shooter Luigi Dela Paz. Van Opstal turned in a dominant effort, especially in the second half, finishing with 18 points and eight rebounds, while De La Paz, after barely getting time last season, sparked the green-and-white's third quarter storm, tallying 10 all-in-all. Combined with another strong batch of performances from Almond Vosotros and Jeron Teng, and DLSU is primed to make it three wins in a row.

FEU on the other hand, lost nearly their entire front court rotation, with the Bringas brothers leaving, and Russell Escoto suffering an ACL injury during his PBA-DL stint. That however hasn't stopped FEU from running out to a league-best 3-0 record, thanks in large part to sizzling performances from Terrence Romeo and RR Garcia.

Former Rookie of the Year Romeo has so far normed a double-double with 21.3 points and 10.0 assists, in addition to 5.3 assists and 2.0 steals. Season 73 MVP Garcia on the other hand has averaged 15.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.0 steals in support of Romeo, as new head coach Nash Racela's dribble-drive offense has allowed the duo to share the ball with each other, maximizing their scoring ability.

Game starts at 4pm.
