Kevin Ferrer will miss two games for the University of Santo Tomas after accidentally injuring his left wrist during practice, but he said that he is still willing to play for the team if necessary.

Ferrer showed up in the game against Far Eastern University on Saturday with a cast on his swelling left wrist, which had undergone operation last Tuesday.

"Kahit naman may masakit, kung kaya ko naman maglalaro talaga ako," Ferrer said.

According to UST head coach Bong Dela Cruz, Ferrer got entangled with Paolo Pe during training but Ferrer said he is not blaming his teammate for the injury.

"Wala namang sisihan sa team," Ferrer said.

With his absence, FEU avenged their loss to UST in the first round. The Tigers took a 66-55 beating and were down by as much as 20 points in the first three quarters before going for a late surge in the fourth.

Ferrer admitted feeling down due to his inability to play because of his injury.

"Kanina gusto ko maglaro talaga, kaso nga bawal talaga. Parang 'di ako nakakatulong sa team," Ferrer said.

After Saturday's game, Ferrer will also be out for UST's matchup against Ateneo De Manila University on Aug. 30. - RAF, GMA News
