UAAP still 'all systems go' amid nCoV threat

Despite changes in schedule in other sporting events due to the threat of the novel coronavirus, the slated opening for the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) volleyball tournaments on Saturday will still push through.

“As we speak, all systems go. We are prepared to face this situation but at the moment, as we speak, tuloy tayo,” UAAP Executive Director Atty. Rebo Saguisag said at a press conference on Tuesday.

Saguisag also assured the league they are on top of the situation.

"Rest assured that the UAAP is committed to ensuring the safety of our student-athletes, coaches, and the officials," he added.

Early this month, the National Collegiate Athletic Association indefinitely postponed their juniors tournaments.

The Philippine Sports Commission last week also announced the postponement of their events such as the National Sports Summit and the Philippine National Games. — MDM, GMA News
