Filipinas exit Asian Games after quarterfinal loss to Japan

The Philippine Women’s National Football Team Filipinas ended its 2026 Asian Games campaign after absorbing a 4-0 loss to host Japan in the quarterfinals on Friday.
Saori Takarada opened the scoring in the second minute before Mami Ueno doubled Japan’s lead in the 26th minute. Takarada then scored her second goal 10 minutes later, while Chinari Kamiya added another in stoppage time of the first half to give Japan a commanding 4-0 lead.
The Philippines finished the tournament with one win against Hong Kong, a draw against Uzbekistan, and back-to-back losses to China and Japan.
