Karl Eldrew Yulo bags bronze in Asian Games men's horizontal bar

Karl Eldrew Yulo bagged his own Asian Games medal — a bronze — after finishing third in the 2026 Asian Games men’s horizontal bar finals on Friday in Japan.

Karl Eldrew scored 13.666 with 5.0 from difficulty and 8.566 in execution, and a 0.1 bonus point to place third behind China's Tian Hao who won the gold with a score of 14.700 and Japan's Shinnosuke Oka who bagged the silver with 14.033.

Another gymnast, Milad Karimi of Kazakhstan, also scored 13.666, but the 18-year old Filipino gymnast had a higher execution score of 8.566 against the Kazakh's 7.766.

Earlier, his elder brother Carlos won the Philippines’ second gold medal after ruling the men’s vault final.

The Philippines now has nine medals, with two golds from Carlos, a silver from MMA's Jean Claude Saclag and the Gilas Pilipinas Women 3x3, and five bronzes.
