Alex Eala, partner exit W25 Macon doubles tilt

Alex Eala and partner Alice Robbe of France were booted in the women's doubles event of W25 Mancon after falling in their match in the quarterfinal round on Tuesday in France.

The Filipina-French tandem stumbled against the French duo of Audrey Albie and Aubane Droguet in straight sets, 4-2, 2-6, to formally bow out of contention.

Eala's campaign, though, is not yet through as the teen tennis sensation will still compete in the singles event. The 16-year-old netter will face Anna Ukolova in the Round of 32 later today.

Eala booked her main draw ticket after she hurdled two matches in the qualifying draw where she edged hometown bets Helena Stevic and Ines Nicault. — LA, GMA News
