PH women's 4x60m relay team captures silver in Asian Beach Games
The Philippine women's relay team seized a silver medal at the 2026 Asian Beach Games after finishing second in the 4x60m relay on Sunday in Sanya, China.
The Filipinas tracksters clocked 29.73 seconds, finishing behind gold medalist Thailand, which claimed the top honors with a 29.46-finish, while host China settled for bronze with 30.42 seconds.
The Philippine team is led by multi-medalist Kristina Knott, who boasts two gold medals, two silvers, and one bronze at the Southeast Asian Games and has represented the country in other prestigious international events like the Olympics and Asian Games.
Jessica Laurance is also part of the quartet, making the feat her second overall medal in the Asian Beach Games after capturing a bronze in the women's 60m event on Saturday.
Rounding out the team are the 19-year-old Shane Joy Ponce and 23-year-old Lianne Diana Pama.
Ponce currently plays for Far Eastern University in the UAAP and was hailed the Rookie of the Year in Season 87, where she took home three medals, including gold in the 100m dash and the 4x100m relay. Ponce also snared a bronze in200m dash.
Pama, meanwhile, is a product of University of Santo Tomas and collected a pair of gold medals in Season 88 after ruling the 100m and 200m events while her team captured a silver in 4x100m relay.
Their feat gave the Philippines its seventh overall medal in the Asian Beach Games.
