LOOK: Team Philippines concludes Asian Beach Games run; Cebu to host next edition

Team Philippines wrapped up its campaign in the Asian Beach Games on Thursday, finishing with three gold, four silver, and two bronze medals in Sanya, China.

The Philippines finished fifth overall, while host country China topped the medal tally with 24 gold, 18 silver, and 13 bronze medals.

Handball athlete Simeon Gabriel Bejar was named the flag bearer of the Philippine delegation during the closing ceremony.

During the ceremony, the Philippines, through Philippine Olympic Committee president Abraham Tolentino, also formally received the Olympic Council of Asia flag, symbolizing the country’s role as the next host of the Asian Beach Games, which will be held in Cebu.
