Western Visayas' Trixia Arellano rules Palarong Pambansa sprint again on her birthday
AGUSAN DEL SUR — For the second straight year, Trixia Arellano celebrated her birthday with a victory.
The Western Visayas bet emerged as the sprint queen in the elementary girls division after ruling the 100m event of the 2026 Palarong Pambansa on a rainy Wednesday night at the Datu Lipus Makapandong Governor D.O. Sports Complex in Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur.
The 12-year-old Arellano clocked 12.89 seconds to dominate the eight-woman field and clinch the gold medal despite being stretched off the track right after the race.
Kerzee Gave Candelaria of Region IV-A seized the silver medal with 13.17 seconds while Clair Arian Gemparo of Region XIII took home the bronze with 13.45 seconds.
A day before, Arellano also ruled the 200m after registering 26.53 seconds to complete the same feat she did last year in Ilocos Norte, where she also reigned supreme in the 100m and 200m events.
