NCR swimmer Patricia Santor completes seven-gold sweep in 2026 Palarong Pambansa

AGUSAN DEL SUR — National Capital Region's swimming ace Patricia Santor left a legacy in her final Palarong Pambansa stint, sweeping all her events at the Aquatic Center in the Datu Lipus Makapandong Governor D.O. Sports Complex.

Santor collected a massive seven-gold medal haul, becoming one of the most bemedalled athletes in the ongoing edition in the municipality of Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur.

Of her seven titles, the University of Santo Tomas student-athlete broke three meet records after clocking 28.98 seconds in the 50m butterfly to shatter Camille Lauren Buico's 20.06 mark from 2019.

Santor also had two record-breaking team performances.

Alongside Sophia Garra, Krystal David, and Nichole Rivera, she submitted a 2:00.97 mark in the 4x50m medley relay, breaking the previous mark of 2:03.04 from 2025.

She then teamed up with Reiko Uy, David, and Garra to rule the 4x100m medley relay with a record-breaking time of 4:27.13, eclipsing the 2019 meet record of 4:32.49.

Santor also reigned supreme in four other individual events to complete the sweep.

The Antipolo-raised swimmer dominated the 400m individual medley (5:14.83), 200m butterfly (2:22.44), 200m individual medley (2:27.94), and 100m butterfly (1:04.09).

"I really had high expectations. That was my only goal this Palaro as this is my last season. I’m really glad I got it. It’s my last year," Santor said as she won her final event of 100m butterfly on Friday.

"I became emotional not because of [my] seventh gold although it’s a really good achievement. I was aiming for the record. I was a bit short. But although I didn’t get it, I realized in the end that I was bit hard on myself so inisip ko nalang, winork ko naman and I still did well."
