Yulo bros fall short of podium in horizontal bar finals at Asian Gymnastics Championships
Brothers Carlos and Karl Eldrew Yulo fell short of a podium finish in the horizontal bar finals of the Asian Gymnastics Championships on Sunday.
Karl Eldrew placed fourth in the finals with a score of 13.833, finishing behind Chinese Taipei’s Chia-Hung Tang (15.500), China’s Boheng Zhang (15.000), and Japan’s Fusuke Maeda (14.300).
His elder brother Carlos, meanwhile, finished with a score of 13.500.
In the parallel bars finals, Carlos, the Olympic double gold medalist, placed sixth with a score of 13.566. Zhang claimed the gold medal with 14.933, followed by South Korea’s Ryu Sunghyun (14.500) and Chinese Taipei’s Hung Yuan-Hsi (13.800).
In a social media post on Sunday, Carlos thanked those who supported him in his journey.
"Proud to represent the Philippines and grateful for everyone who continues to support this journey. Thank you to my coaches, family, and everyone who believed in me through every high and low," he wrote.
