President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos, Jr., will host a homecoming reception for Filipino tennis star Alex Eala following her historic run at Wimbledon, according to Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro.

The Wimbledon tournament marked the end of Alex's impressive grass-court season, during which she captured the WTA 125 title in Birmingham and reached the semifinals of the Berlin Tennis Open.

At Wimbledon, she became the first Filipina to reach the fourth round of a Grand Slam singles tournament after advancing to the Round of 16.

Eala arrived in the Philippines on Sunday.

"Matapos ang produktibong araw ng Pangulo sa Camiguin, mamayang gabi naman ay isang homecoming reception ang inihanda para kay tennis star Alex Eala na nagbigay ng karangalan sa bansa bilang kauna-unahang Pinoy na nakapasok sa round of 16 sa Wimbledon," Castro said in a news briefing.
