Alex Eala talks life outside of tennis, friendships, and admirers
Alexandra "Alex" Eala's followers know that, outside of tennis, she has built strong friendships on tour while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
Last week, Eala even took time off to watch a Bad Bunny concert.
“I went to the Bad Bunny concert. I was in La Casita, so that was super fun,” Eala said in a one-on-one interview with Vicky Morales on 24 Oras, which aired Thursday.
“I had a mini girls trip with my friends, and it was so memorable.”
It is in moments like these that fans get to see Eala's side off-the-court, something she values just as much as her performance on tour.
“One thing I value so much in my life is girlhood and friendships. I think it's so important, especially at the age that I'm at,” said the 21-year-old Eala.
“And they're really the ones who also give me a break from my life when it gets crazy sometimes. So whenever I look at the genuine friendship and girls uplifting each other, although I'm also surrounded by that, I guess that's what I get envious of in a good way. Although I also have that in my life, which I'm so grateful for.”
With her career demanding much of her attention and many of her friends sharing similar experiences, Eala said a relationship is not something she is prioritizing at the moment.
“ I have so much to think about outside of boys. But I believe that if the time's right, it will come when it needs to be there.”
Eala is in the Philippines for a short break and a series of engagements before returning to North America for her next tournament swing.
