Alexandra "Alex" Eala recently reflected on what she learned from sharing the court with tennis legend Venus Williams during the Bad Homburg Open.

Eala and Williams reached the quarterfinals of the doubles competition before bowing to Olivia Nicholls and Tereza Mihalikova, 6-3, 6-2.

Despite the defeat, Eala said the opportunity to partner with the seven-time Grand Slam singles champion was a valuable learning experience.

“It was an incredible experience for me. Venus has such a special work ethic and such a special mindset. And for who she is, she is so down to earth,” Eala said.

“So I just took that week to absorb everything I could absorb and learn from her.”

Eala added that she remains grateful for the chance to share the court with Williams, who also congratulated the Filipina star on her impressive run at Wimbledon.

In the same interview, the Filipina tennis ace also shared the best message she has received from a fan and explained why she always speaks from the heart.

Eala is in the country for media engagements ahead of her next swing in the WTA Tour.
