RP Blu Girls blank host Peru to cap Women's Softball World Cup opening-round campaign

The Philippine women's softball team, the RP Blu Girls, blanked host nation Peru, 8-0, in its final opening-round game of the Women's Softball World Cup on Saturday (Philippine time).

The Blu Girls finished the group stage with a 2-3 record, highlighted by an upset victory over Puerto Rico.

The Philippines placed fifth in the standings, while Peru remained winless through five games.

The two teams will face off again in the fifth-place playoff.
