EJ Obiena wins Germany pole vault meet with 5.76-meter clearance

Filipino Olympian and pole vaulter EJ Obiena bounced back with a winning performance after ruling the 1st International Pole Vault Meeting at Cathedral Square in Halberstadt, Germany, on Friday.
Obiena cleared 5.76 meters on his first attempt to top a 10-man field.
He then attempted to clear 5.90 meters but fell short in all three tries.
Qatar's Abdelsalam Seifeldin finished second after clearing 5.66 meters, while American Walsh Cole placed third with a clearance of 5.56 meters.
Before his victory in Germany, Obiena finished second at the Meeting Madrid two weeks earlier after clearing 5.85 meters.
