Brazilian volleyball coach arrives in PH, set to oversee women's national team
Brazilian coach Jorge Edson Souza de Brito arrived in the country late Wednesday as he gears up to join the national women's team training bubble in Ilocos Norte.
According to Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) president Ramon "Tats" Suzara, Souza de Brito will make his way to the bubble on August 1 once he completes his mandatory quarantine on July 31.
Souza de Brito will work closely with interim head coach Odjie Mamon for two years, where they would team up in preparing the nationals for the Vietnam SEAG that had already been postponed.
Aside from the regional competition, Souza de Brito will also help the team prepare for the 21st Asian senior women’s volleyball championship which the country is hosting on August 29.
Majority of the 16-member national women’s team have recently ended camp in the Ilocos Norte training bubble which began last July 1.
The women's team will resume training for the Asian Senior Women’s Volleyball Championship in Batangas on Friday.
