UAAP: FEU completes reverse sweep vs Ateneo, awaits NU-UST result in women's volleyball

Far Eastern University pulled off a reverse sweep against Ateneo de Manila University, 22-25, 23-25, 25-12, 25-21, 15-10, on the final day of the UAAP Season 88 women’s volleyball elimination round Wednesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum to keep its playoff hopes alive—for now.

The Lady Tamaraws now await the result of the National University–University of Santo Tomas match. A win by the Golden Tigresses would eliminate the Morayta-based squad, while a UST loss would force a playoff for the No. 4 spot.

Gerz Petallo led FEU with 17 points, 16 digs, and 11 receptions. Lovely Lopez added 13 points along with 26 receptions and six digs as the Lady Tamaraws closed the elimination round with an 8-6 record.

For Ateneo, Dona de Leon finished with 15 points and three digs, while JLo Delos Santos posted 12 points, 11 digs, and seven receptions. Ana Hermosura chipped in 10 points, 12 receptions, and nine digs as the Blue Eagles wrapped up their campaign at 2-12.
