Trisha Tubu named PVL Press Corps MVP

Trisha Tubu was named the season’s Most Valuable Player by the PVL Press Corps ahead of its awards night this Saturday.

Tubu delivered one of the most dominant individual performances this season, finishing atop the MVP race with a weighted score of 171.868. The tally was composed of 50 percent statistics, 30 percent media votes, and 20 percent team votes.

The 25-year-old Farm Fresh opposite spiker led all MVP candidates with 108.668 statistical points, while also earning 50.4 media votes and 25.2 team votes.

Tubu edged out fellow contenders Erika Santos of Cignal, Brooke Van Sickle of Nxled, and Vanie Gandler of Cignal for the top honor.

Behind Tubu’s stellar campaign, Farm Fresh finished third in the elimination round of last year’s PVL on Tour, topped the elimination round of the Reinforced Conference, and achieved its best finish yet with a fourth-place showing in the recent All-Filipino Conference. The Foxies also reached the playoffs in the last three conferences.

Also set to be honored at the upcoming PVL Press Corps Awards Night are Rookie of the Year Bella Belen and Spikers’ Turf MVP Jude Garcia.
