NGCP to implement Manual Load Dropping on Saturday

The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) on Saturday said it will implement Manual Load Dropping (MLD) or rotational power interruptions in some areas after it placed the Luzon Grid on red alert from 1 p.m. to midnight.
NGCP said MLD will be be implemented in these areas from 7:00 p.m. -8:00 p.m.:
MERALCO (parts of Meralco franchise area)
ISECO (parts of Ilocos Sur)
BENECO (parts of Baguio City and Benguet)
CENPELCO (parts of Pangasinan)
NUVELCO (parts of Nueva Vizcaya)
TARELCO I (parts of Tarlac)
PELCO I, PRESCO (parts of Pampanga)
AEC (parts of Angeles City, Pampanga)
NEECO I (parts of Nueva Ecija)
BATELEC II (parts of Batangas)
CASURECO II (parts of Camarines Sur)
ALECO (parts of Albay)
"Schedule may be cancelled if system condition improves, such as if actual demand falls below projections," NGCP said.
The company also encouraged everyone to "exercise prudence in using electricity."
