Karen Bordador was helping boyfriend sell ecstasy before arrest —PNP

Radio disc jockey Karen Bordador was allegedly helping her boyfriend sell ecstacy to an agent posing as a buyer when they were arrested Saturday afternoon, police said on Tuesday.

In a press statement, the National Capital Region Police Office said Bordador, who is also an FHM model and a former reality TV star, was at the unit of suspected big-time drug supplier Emilio Lim and helped the suspect consummate the sale of the ecstasy to the buyer.

Police said Lim, 32, was allegedly the supplier of ecstasy and other party drugs in high end bars in Bonifacio Global City and Makati City.

Bordador and Lim were nabbed after Evan Reanald Baylon, a Filipino-American earlier arrested in a buy-bust operation, tagged the latter as his supplier.

Baylon was caught while selling six pieces of ecstasy to a poseur buyer at The Fort, Taguig City.

Operatives of the Eastern Police District (EPD) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) then conducted buy-bust operation at Lim’s condominium in Oranbo, Pasig City where the two were caught on August 13.

Police said Lim and Bordador tried to resist the arrest by closing the door of the condominium unit.

Confiscated were ecstasy tablets, ecstasy powder, cracked ecstasy, dried marijuana leaves, and marijuana resins/oil with estimated value amounting to P2.8 million, drug paraphernalia, and money counting machines.

They are now under custody and temporarily detained at the Southern Police District Detention Facility.

Charges of violation of Section 5 (Sale, Trading, Administration, Dispensation, Delivery, Distribution and Transportation of Dangerous Drugs and/or Controlled Precursors and Essential Chemical), Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), and Section 12. (Possession of Equipment, Instrument, Apparatus and Other Paraphernalia for Dangerous Drugs) in relation to Section 26 (Attempt or Conspiracy) of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act Of 2002) were filed against Lim and Bordador.

NCRPO acting Regional Director, Chief Supt Oscar Albayalde lauded the police operatives of Southern Police District (SPD) led by Senior Supt Tomas Apolinario for the successful operation.

He said NCRPO’s intensified campaign against illegal drugs and criminalities through the chief PNP’s Project Double Barrel and Oplan Tokhang continues.

“Our campaign is far from over. Rest assured that the NCRPO will not stop until Metro Manila will become a drug-free region,” he said. —JST/DVM, GMA News
