Woman in viral road rage video willing to attend Dec. 27 hearing

The woman who attacked a taxi driver in an incident that was captured on video has expressed her willingness to attend a hearing on the issue on December 27.

According to a 24 Oras report on Tuesday, Land Transportation Office (LTO) officials have already talked to Cherish Sharmaine Interior.

The officials went to her house with the show cause order for the hearing, after obtaining taxi driver Virgilio Doctor's affidavit from from the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), a separate 24 Oras report by Chino Gaston said.

"Parang ano 'yon summon na mag-appear siya on December 27. Para ma-clear 'yung pangalan niya doon," an LTO officer said.

Doctor has filed charges of physical injury, unjust vexation, and malicious mischief against Interior. He presented as pieces of evidence his medical certificate, which notes that he had a contusion on his left cheek following the incident, and photos of his damaged taxi.

"Sinesegundahan namin 'yung sinasabi ng LTFRB na ang LTO ang dapat dumisiplina doon sa babae pagdating sa lisensya kasi ang LTO kasi ang nagiissue ng lisensya. So we will pursue that na preventively masuspend and lisensya ng babae," said Doctor's lawyer Ariel Inton.

Meanwhile, Doctor said he is not closing the door to forgiving Interior.

"Tingnan ko na lang po sa susunod na pagkakataon pero po sa ngayon tuloy po ang demanda namin ni Attorney," Doctor said.

Interior can be seen in the video reaching into the taxi's driver's side window and trying to dismantle cab's side mirror.

Doctor, who suffered a a stroke in 2014, said Interior had also grabbed a tube or golf club and had hit his taxi before punching him in the face. Anna Felicia Bajo/BM, GMA News
