Valenzuela to lift liquor ban on Oct. 15
Valenzuela City will lift its liquor ban on Thursday, October 15, but residents must still observe an ordinance on liquor regulation.
“Simula Oktubre 15, 2020, pinawawalang-bisa na ang Stay Sober Ordinance o ang Liquor Ban. Gayunman, ipatutupad na ang ‘Liquor Regulation During the Pandemic Ordinance’ kung saan tayo ay dapat sumunod sa mga sumusunod na tuntunin,” the city government said Monday.
Under the liquor regulation ordinance, alcoholic drinks cannot be sold to minors and pregnant women, as well as during curfew hours from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
The ordinance also bans drinking in public places and sharing of glasses.
The local government will also limit the number of liquor bottles that an establishment can sell daily, while each resident can only purchase one bottle of strong liquor per day.
Drinking inside commercial establishments is allowed but videoke and acoustic live bands are prohibited.
“Sinumang lalabag sa ordinansang ito ay papatawan ng karampatang multa. Maaari ring matanggalan ng business permit ang mga lalabag na establisyimento,” city authorities warned.
