3 COMPANIONS ALSO POSITIVE

Woman who assaulted traffic enforcer tests positive for drugs –MPD-SMaRT

The female motorist who assaulted a traffic enforcer in Manila and is suspected of being a drug courier was found positive for drugs, the Manila Police District Special Mayor's Reaction Team (MPD-SMaRT) said Saturday.

In an interview on Super Radyo dzBB, MPD-SMaRT chief Police Colonel Rosalino Ibay said motorist Pauline Altamirano and her companions Rendor Sanchez, Jason Dela Cruz, and Marlon de Guzman tested positive.

According to a report on “24 Oras Weekend,” one of the suspects said they had recently used drugs before they were caught.

However, Altamirano denied that she was transporting the drugs found in her bag, later adding that she obtained them from a Chinese suitor.

“Doon sa Chinese… ipapalit ko dapat ng kush,” she said.

(From the Chinese… I was supposed to exchange it for kush.)

Meanwhile, Ibay said they were looking into the use of rented cars for drug transactions.

“Isa din nga ‘yun sa tinitignan naming anggulo bakit nakakapag-rent ng walang driver’s licence ‘yung mga Chinese national,” Ibay said.

(This is one of the angles we were looking at, why they were able to rent without a driver’s license.)

“Para makapag-arkila ka ng isang buong buwan, bayad ‘yung private vehicles. Ganun kalaki na siguro ‘yung market nila,” he added.

(To rent a car for a month and pay for the private vehicles, their market must be very big.)

Altamirano is already facing complaints for driving without a license, direct assault, and disobedience to authority. — Joahna Lei Casilao/DVM, GMA News
