NCR lifts curfew starting November 4, 2021

The general curfew in the National Capital Region will be lifted starting on Friday, November 4.

Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) chairperson Benhur Abalos said some local government units however would still implement the curfew for minors.

Since October 13, the curfew in Metro Manila has been set at 12 midnight to 4 a.m.

Earlier, Abalos said mall operators have agreed to extend their operating hours in light of the holiday season but they were concerned about the curfew and the limit on public transport.

Abalos suggested the extension of mall hours because the number of vehicles on EDSA has been increasing, which he said could lead to heavier traffic.

For the limited capacity in public transport, he said the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases has already expanded it to 70%.

The Alert Level 3 which has been in effect in Metro Manila has been extended from November 1 to 14.

Under Alert Level 3, several establishments — including restaurants, gyms, cinemas and movie houses — will be allowed to operate at 30% indoor venue capacity only for fully vaccinated individuals and 50% outdoor venue capacity, provided that all employees are fully vaccinated. —Joviland Rita/KG, GMA News
