Fire displaces 16 families in Pateros

Around 16 families lost their homes to a fire that struck early dawn on Wednesday at Alley 16, Barangay Sta. Ana, Pateros.

Seven people were hurt in the blaze that gutted at least four houses and reached the first alarm, GMA News' EJ Gomez said, quoting reports from the municipality and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).

The fire was put out at around 12:47 a.m., the BFP said.

One of the fire victims said they were unable to retrieve their belongings as the fire spread quickly.

Pateros Mayor Gerald German said the local government will provide temporary shelter to the victims in a nearby school.

The BFP is investigating the incident. —LDF, GMA News
