Liza Marcos leads rice distribution in Bagong Pag-asa, QC
First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos led the distribution of rice to residents of Barangay Bagong Pag-asa in Quezon City on Wednesday.
A video posted by Super Radyo dzBB’s Allan Gatus showed Marcos handing out 10-kilo sacks of rice to beneficiaries alongside Joy Belmonte.
Marcos conducted similar distribution activities in Barangay Doña Imelda in Quezon City on Monday and in Tondo, Manila on Tuesday.
The distribution was carried out under the First Lady’s “Mula sa Puso Para sa Pamilya” program, which aims to provide immediate assistance to communities across Metro Manila.
According to the Presidential Communications Office, Belmonte said the Office of the President allocated P462.9 million to the Quezon City government for its rice subsidy program.
The initiative also aims to support local farmers by enabling the city government to purchase their produce.
Marcos is set to continue the rice distribution drive in the following areas:
- June 25 (Manila): The distribution returns to District 3 at the Barangay 377 Covered Court on Pampanga Street, Sta. Cruz, near Aurora Boulevard.
- June 26 (Quezon City): The weeklong activity will conclude in District 5 at the Novaliches District Center on Moses Street, Jordan Plains Subdivision, Barangay Sta. Monica.
