Marcos directs urgent repair of fire-damaged Culiat Bridge in QC —DPWH
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has directed the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to conduct an immediate technical assessment of the repairs needed at the Culiat Bridge in Quezon City to restore it to full functionality for motorists, DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon said.
In a Facebook post, Dizon said a technical team from the DPWH inspected the bridge, which was recently damaged by fire, and conducted clearing operations with the city government led by QC Mayor Joy Belmonte.
According to Dizon, following the clearing operations, DPWH will carry out temporary repairs on the uplifted section of the bridge's asphalt surface, while its technical team continues to assess the necessary rehabilitation works to ensure the bridge is safe for motorists.
The bridge remains closed after it was damaged by a fire on Saturday. —LDF, GMA News
